There is some bullying and maybe a few kinks but nothing too crazy. I didn’t think this book was particularly dark. It seemed like it was more an issue that Carter had with his parents instead of Raine. I liked Carter and Raine, though I feel like Carter’s reason for “hating” Raine was pretty lame. I didn’t think it was anything special, and there was a sort of twist thrown in at the end that wasn’t necessarily out of nowhere but just wasn’t needed.
